How to Avoid Overeating at a Buffet

People are more likely to consume extra calories when food is unlimited and there are many choices. Many people think that the only way to not overeat at a buffet is to not go to a buffet, but this is not true. Recent studies found that sitting further away from the buffet table and checking out the buffet before taking food can help you choose foods that look most appealing. If smaller plates are available, taking one of these will help you to reduce the amount of food on your plate, also helping you eat less. So the next time you go to a buffet, sit further away from the buffet table, scout out the food, take a smaller plate, chew your food longer, and sit a few minutes before going back up the buffet table to let your brain sense how full you are.
