Health apps have been a huge trend ever since apps for
smartphones came to be. These apps promise quick fixes for things like pain
relief, flab on the abs, stuttering, and stress. The apps have used the light,
sounds or vibration of the cell phone while using the app. The according to the
Federal Trade Commission and experts in online health technology, many of these
apps do not actually follow established medical guidelines and the light, sounds
and vibration could not possibly treat these issues effectively. Few of the apps
have even been tested through clinical research.
A physician noted that there are some accurate apps used by
doctors and hospitals alike. Some of these include: Lose It for weight loss,
Azumio to measure heart rates, and iTriage to check
symptoms and locate hospitals with the shortest emergency room wait times. Be
skeptical when it comes to using a health app
