It sounds too good to be true but adding functional foods to your diet will improve your health. A functional food is defined as “a food that provides additional health benefits that may reduce disease risk and/or promote good health” by AND. Some functional foods that are recommended include sardines, salmon, nuts, whole-grains, beans, and berries. Fish can decrease heart disease risk, and joint pain. Nuts control blood sugar and are a great snack because they help us feel full. Berries are good because their color has health benefits.
