Metabolism: The Facts

People often blame weight gain on their metabolism. While metabolism does convert the food we consume into energy, it is not fair to blame slow metabolism for weight gain. One issue currently being talked about is that green tea will boost your metabolism and allow you to consume extra calories. Research has found that while green tea temporarily boosts metabolism it is not enough to offset extra calories being consumed. Another issue that has been discussed for a long period of time is that eating after 8 p.m. will cause weight gain. There is no evidence to support this claim. The issue with eating at night is the tendency to snack mindlessly and take in a lot of extra calories.
