Outta Sight, Outta Mind

Recent research is proving this tag line to be true. Those trying to cut back were less likely to eat junk foods when they kept them out of their offices, rooms, and houses because they were avoiding the temptation rather than just relying on willpower alone. Keep the desserts and other indulgences for special occasions or a treat; this way you will look forward to this and it will cut back on these foods in your diet. Whether you are trying to lose weight or just eat a healthier diet, try to replace the chips and cookies as a snack with some nuts and dried fruit, or fresh fruits and veggies with nut butter. Keep these snacks handy in the car and the office especially. And remember to eat before you shop! By going to the store hungry, you are more likely to impulse buy those junk foods that you are trying to stay away from. Since most of the cookies, candies and salty favorites are lumped into the same sections in the store, try to bypass those and stick to the perimeters with your produce, meats and dairy.
