Most people know that eating healthy is one way to lead a good life. Unfortunately, it is not as easy as it sounds. There is nutrition related topics in the news every day. It is hard as consumers to know what is accurate scientific news and what is a marketing technique. There are three sources that can be relied upon to give good nutrition information. The first one is the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. These are guidelines to a healthy diet that are published every five years and promote good dietary habits.  The second place to get information is MyPlate. MyPlate is an easy way for consumers to follow the dietary guidelines. This is a convenient online resource. Visit choosemyplate.gov for more information. Lastly, reading food labels is always a good way to know if you are choosing a healthy food product. The food label tells you about nutrients, fats, fiber and other sources found in the food. Being an educated consumer helps one to make healthier dietary choices.
