The Ashland University Student Dietetic Association (SDA) is a professional student organization which strives to create and enhance networking relationships between faculty, local professional organizations, and the dietetics student body. This organization will provide a forum for student and professional discussions related to the field of dietetics/nutrition and opportunities for student involvement and experiences.

I. Article I: Name
The name of this organization will be the Student Dietetic Association (SDA) at Ashland University.

1. The Student Dietetic Association (SDA) shall comply with the University policies and procedures, including but not limited to those found in the Student Handbook and the Student Organization Handbook, as well as local, state and federal laws.
2. The Student Dietetics Association (SDA) will comply with the University individual rights statement which is as follows: Ashland University is an Equal Opportunity institution and reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate all students regardless of disabilities, sex, age, race, color, religion, and national or ethnic origin, as per Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, and the American Disabilities Act of 1991.

VI. Process for Amendment of Constitution:

3. A 2/3 vote must be achieved in order to pass and be amended.
4. These amendments can be submitted at any time during the year and will take effect immediately upon successfully passing in a balloted vote.

a. Purpose: to disseminate information about the SDA through print, radio, and electronic medias.

VIII. Financial Aspects:
1. Collection and Dispersement of Dues
a. All members must pay an annual membership fee of $10.00.
b. All dues must be paid in full by the third meeting of the fall semester.

d. Students unable to pay dues because of hardship cases will be reviewed and approved by the Faculty Advisor on an individual basis.
e. Dues can be used for any organizational expenses approved by the Executive Officers and Faculty Advisor.
f. Money not spent during that academic year will be rolled over into the subsequent year.

We educated the Ashland University campus on antioxidants; where they can be found as well as the benefits. We also clarified the labeling of "Contains Antioxidants" on popular beverages. If a question asked to viewer was answered correctly, they recieved a almond, dried fruit and dark chocolate snack!
